2008 Senior Citizen of The Year
Bessie Jane O'Neill
We are pleased to announce the 2008 Senior Citizen of the Year is Layton resident, Bessie Jane O'Neill. Bessie has lived her life in Sandyston Township and lives in Layton on her family farm with her husband, Richard. Bessie has been a dedicated employee of the Sandyston-Walpack School since November of 1984 as a school bus driver.
RIBBON CUTTING AT LAYTON POST OFFICE
On Tuesday, November 18, 2008, the Layton Post Office held a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at their new location - 122 Route 560, Sandyston. This event was attended by the Township Committee, United States Postal Service representatives and local residents. Opening remarks were given by Connie Chirichello, USPS Communications Specialist and Postmaster Michele Marks was Master of Ceremony with speeches also provided by Sandyston Mayor William Leppert, Manager Post Office Operations Carmen Bruno, Sandyston Township Historial Society President Patte Haggerty Frato followed by the ribbon cutting.
