We are always looking for volunteers! We sponsor Soccer, Basketball, Girl's Softball, Halloween Party, Easter Egg Hunt, Yankee Bus Trip, Road Clean-Up, Sandyston Day, Miss Sandyston & Little Miss & Mr. Contest, etc. We would appreciate any volunteers for these recreation sponsored activities.

Congratulations to Mary Cunico who was presented with the 2010 Sandyston Township Senior Citizen of the Year award. Pictured are William Leppert, Deputy Mayor, Fred MacDonald, Committeeman, Mary Cunico and George B. Harper, Jr., Mayor. Mary Cunico is a life-long resident of Sandyston Township, born and raised at Tuttle’s Corner. Mrs. Cunico attended the one-room school in Layton from Kindergarten to 8th grade. Mrs. Cunico married Yorio Cunico and raised five children, Rick, Elise, Marc, Ann and Maria. The Cunico’s were owners of “Cunico’s Restaurant” which was located in the Kittatinny Lake section of Sandyston Township, which provided a wonderful dining experience for friends and patrons. Mrs. Cunico is a devoted mother and grandmother is currently a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and Treasurer of the Sandyston Seniors.

A 2009 graduate of High Point Regional High School, Jen is currently a student at Sussex County Community College pursuing a career in social work. She is the daughter of Laura Delea of Sandyston. Jen has held several jobs since age 16, and is currently employed at Jumboland Diner in Branchville. Jen was an honor roll student throughout her high school career and has continued to excel in academics by being named to the Dean’s List every college semester. She has also been involved in peer counseling and volunteer work. In her spare time Jen enjoys music, reading, running, and staying active. Jennifer will next compete at the New Jersey State Fair/Sussex County Farm & Horse Show Queen of the Fair Pagent.
